Cascade Lake Regional Park features a swimming beach, trails, and a playground that is about to double in size. The City of Rochester just announced the Parks & Recreation Department has received a $379,000 grant to "support an inclusive expansion to the nature playground at Cascade Lake Regional Park."

Rochester Parks & Recreation Department has received a $379,000 Grant

What really makes this project stand out is its focus on providing all children with the ability to play alongside one another in almost any area of the new playground.

A press release from the city explains the grant is from the Greater Minnesota Regional Parks and Trails Commission and will nearly double the size of the park’s play space.

Mike Nigbur, Parks & Forestry Division Head said, “We hope this expansion positively impacts all users through a unique blend of play, sensory interactions, and traditional play ideas using more natural elements.
