Summer is almost here and you know what that means, the unofficial state bird of Minnesota is back and ready to feast on all of us who just crawled out of winter hibernation.

We joke about mosquitoes being the state bird, but believe it or not, other parts of the country are dealing with even worse swarms of these relentless little bloodsuckers.

I don't know what it is about me, but mosquitos just LOVE me. No matter how much bug spray I use, I’m always the one getting eaten alive. I'll go out with shorts and look like I have chicken pox on my legs. Meanwhile, everyone else is untouched. Is it my blood type? My sparkling personality? Who knows.

I recently came across something interesting: mosquitoes actually prefer certain colors. So if you're trying to fly under their radar this summer, your outfit might be part of the problem.
