Minnesota Boat Captain Job Pays $90K And is Open Now
If you're looking for a new job, and you like water, you could earn nearly $100K as a boat captain this summer in Minnesota.
They don't call Minnesota the Land of 10,000 Lakes for nothing, right? So if you have experience captaining a boat on one of those bodies of water, you could snag yourself a new gig that could pay you a pretty decent wage this summer.
Hat tip to Audrey Kennedy at Axios Twin Cities, who spotted this job opening at the Woodford Agency. In case you're not familiar (and I wasn't), the Woodford Agency appears to be a fancy-schmancy employment firm specializing in 'premier household staffing' which 'works to provide families with elite and highly-experienced domestic staff professionals.'
In addition to its office in Minneapolis, the Woodford Agency is also located in Beverly Hills, Denver, Naples, and London. And one of their job openings right now is for a Boat Captain in Minnesota. Here's the job description:
Minneapolis client is seeking a Captain for their private yacht, permanent placement during the months of April - October. Responsibilities will include driving as scheduled with on-call availability, maintenance and coordination of maintenance, cleaning of boats and equipment, staff management-- bartender, coordinate provision for each cruise; food, beverages, ice, etc.
The job listing goes on to describe a few more details about the position:
- Pay rate: $7,500 per month
- Start date: April through October 2023
- No housing, live-out position
- Requirements: Captain's license, previous private service experience
Doing some quick math, that pay rate would be equal to $90,000 a year, if you worked a full 12 months. So, yeah, it appears this isn't just any old fishing boat or pontoon you'd be in charge of, right? If you're interested, it appears you have to first register with the Woodford Agency before applying.
Seeing as the Woodford Agency specializes in finding elite staff for their anonymous clients, the bigger question is, just *WHOSE* yacht is it? And on just which body of water would you be piloting said yacht for the anonymous but likely rich and possibly famous Minnesotan?
We have some possibilities of just who *might* own this yacht. Keep scrolling to check out both the highest-paid professional athletes in Minnesota, as well as the richest residents of the Gopher State!
