It's always fun when somebody from Minnesota appears on a reality TV show, like The Voice or American Idol. While we're not sure of this season's contests on those shows just yet, there is a Minnesota contestant set to compete on the upcoming season of Survivor.

And while he is a doctor, sadly, he doesn't work here in the Med City. According to the Star Tribune, "Peter Baggenstos, a 34-year-old doctor based at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, is competing on an island in Cambodia along with 17 other castaways who are being divided into the following camps: Brains, Brawns and Beauty."

The article says Dr. Baggenstos will be competing in the 'Brains' category. A Minneapolis TV station also did a story on Minnesota's Survivor connection, and the ER doc says he's got what it takes to win. According to WCCO, Baggenstos said: “I’m the best person out here to get the million for numerous reasons — I’m an athletic threat, I’m educated, I can do a puzzle better than anyone else out there, I’ve got a good sense of self, but I also have a slightly inflated ego and narcisism.”

The upcoming season premieres February 17th on CBS, but most of it (except for the live ending which reveals the million dollar winner) has already been filmed, with shooting taking place last March through May in Cambodia.
