As you get together with family and friends this holiday season, you might hoist a festive holiday drink. But according to this new survey, Minnesota is home to the least popular iconic drink in the country!

The gang over at HangOverCure.org just published a list of the most popular 'iconic' drinks in each of our 50 states. Then, "they conducted a survey of 1,000 American drinkers to find out how the rank each of the most iconic drinks from each state," their site says.

And, it's not good news for those of us here in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Because according to the HangOverCure.org survey, Minnesota's Iconic Drink is something called the Bootleg, which is essentially just whiskey over ice with a splash of water. Now I've only lived in Minnesota for 8 years, and while I do love me a good drink (beer, mainly, due to my Wisconsin roots) I can't say I've ever HEARD of the Bootleg-- especially not as an Iconic Minnesota Drink.

Perhaps that's why our Iconic State Drink ranks dead last in the list of the 50 Favorite Iconic Drinks In Every State. That's right, we're at number 50 out of 50 drinks. Coming in at number-one on the list is South Carolina with their South Carolinian Sweet Tea and Vodka (cold-brewed sweet tea and vodka over ice.)

That's followed by Washington state and their Washington Apple cocktail (whiskey, cranberry juice, and sour apple schnapps served in a martini glass.)Wyoming (whiskey) and Oregon (craft beer) round out the top five, along with my home state of Wisconsin, which is ranked 4th with the classic Brandy Old Fashioned (which you can get at any good Wisconsin supper club.)
