
Minnesota Man Killed in Squirrel Hunting Accident in NE Iowa

New Albin, IA (KROC-AM News) - An apparent squirrel hunting accident in northeastern Iowa has claimed the life of a Minnesota man.
A news release from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says Conservation Officers responded to a report of a fatal hunting Saturday afternoon at the Fish Mounds Wildlife Area. The site is about 2 miles south of New Albin, which is located along the Minnesota-Iowa border about 15 miles southeast of Caledonia.
The victim was a 46-year-old St. Paul man, who pronounced dead at the scene around 5 PM. His name has not been released.
The deadly incident is being investigated by the Iowa DNR and the Allamakee County Sherrif's Office.
