Miranda Lambert’s Airstream Reno Is Complete and It’s Totally Her
Miranda Lambert's airstream, Wanda the Wanderer, got an epic makeover by HGTV's Junk Gypsies.
Gypsy sisters Amie and Jolie Sikes were behind its first renovation, too, back in 2010. But after eight years on the road with Lambert, it was time for Wanda to get a facelift, and the Junk Gypsies proved more than up to the challenge.
Using various items they made and found at antique stores (and sometimes the trash!), the sisters decorated the airstream to perfectly suit Lambert. You'll find plenty of dip-died fringe inside, plus velvet curtains!
“We just knew we couldn’t have too much fringe in this airstream. We wanted it everywhere,” the Junk Gypsies explain as they give a tour in the show clip above.
One area is surrounded by velvet curtains and gives the vibe of a separate room. The quaint spot features comfy leather chairs and can serve as a little writing nook or a laid-back hang for two people, Lambert and a guest. No detail was left unexplored — even when it came to light fixtures — as one was covered by a beautiful and colorfully decorated tambourine.
The women used Lambert's Livin’ Like Hippies Tour poster as inspiration for the renovation, and the singer couldn't be happier with the end result.
"It is incredible! I couldn't have even dreamed up how great it turned out," she gushes. "It looks so much bigger, that was my first impression. Our whole band and crew can't believe it because it's unbelievable."
Other notable touches: an old church pew situated in front of a bar area, painted yellow with the phrase "Jesus Drank Wine." To the side, a booth was created that seats eight people, as well as serves as a storage space. The table was formed from a vintage panel on a carousel while the leg is from a grand piano.
