Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – Motorists in a section of downtown Rochester will be affected by a road project Monday - a project that has been affecting traffic for the past year.

The city Public Works Dept. says there will be new closures on the stretch of 4th St SW between 1st and 6th avenues that is being completely rebuilt.

Here are the planned changes:

The intersection of 6th Avenue and 4th Street will be completely closed
The intersection of 4th Avenue and 4th Street will be completely closed
4th Street will be completely closed between 3rd and 6th avenues
4th Street will be open to eastbound traffic only between 1st and 3rd avenues

The department says these closures are expected to remain in effect until the project is completed in August.
