While we Minnesotans may be known for our love of the great outdoors, it seems we also have a soft spot for our four-wheeled friends. And there are a lot of them on the roads here in the North Star State these days. Which makes sense, seeing as the average household in Minnesota is now home to two vehicles.

Minnesota’s Roads Are Packed: Millions of Vehicles Registered

According to data from the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration and MinnesotaLicensePlat.org, there are currently an estimated 4,750,000 vehicles on the road in Minnesota. This figure encompasses all passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, and other vehicle classes listed with active registrations in the state’s Department of Public Safety database.

That's a respectable number, but it pales in comparison to the over 13 million vehicles on the road in California and the 8 million vehicles currently licensed down in Texas! But, as we know, not all of those vehicles here in the Bold North or across the country are brand new.
