Minnesotans Are Cashing In On Classic Childhood Toys
Let's take a walk down memory lane! It’s the late ‘90s, you're rocking your K-Swiss shoes, you've got your Lisa Frank trapper keeper in your backpack, a Tamagotchi beeping in your pocket, and a growing collection of Beanie Babies you’re absolutely certain will fund your future college education.
At least, that was the plan.
My grandma and I were all in on the Beanie Baby craze. She was convinced that if we collected the right ones, we could sell them and pay for college. Spoiler alert: I’m 37 now and still paying off those student loans. So… yeah. That didn’t quite work out.
I was also totally obsessed with Pokémon cards, trading them with my siblings like it was high-stakes Wall Street, and picking up new packs at literally every store. Most of them ended up bent, scribbled on, or forever lost to the couch cushions. Same goes for my Easy-Bake Oven and the tiny Polly Pocket sets I swore I’d never give away.
