Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Wednesday is April Fool’s Day - and it has also been designated Census Day.

Olmsted County says most residents should have received a 2020 Census questionnaire by now.

The county says residents can complete the Census online from the safety of their homes by going to 2020Census.gov. It can also be completed by phone or by mail.

So far, nearly 45-percent of Minnesotans have responded to the Census. The Olmsted County response rate currently stands at almost 48-percent.

The county is encouraging residents who haven’t completed the survey to do so when possible.

The county says, “ Your response shapes decisions about how more than $675 billion in federal funding is distributed annually to local communities, like ours, to support schools, fire and emergency services, and healthcare.”
