They were a hugely popular group that topped the charts for over 10 years, but a year ago this month, they played their last show...ever... right here in Minnesota.

The Minnesota State Fair has hosted a TON of incredible artists during its Grandstand Series over the years. But something happened in August of last year, during the Fair's 2022 run that might just be a first at the Great Minnesota Get-Together: the last concert of the popular country group, Florida Georgia Line.

Florida Georgia Line (FGL as they're known by their fans) is a group that is made up of Brian Kelly and Tyler Hubbard. And, since they had their first hit back over 13 years ago, they've become one of the most popular country groups around, as their website notes:

Amassing the best-selling digital Country single of all time (SoundScan) with 11X-PLATINUM breakout “Cruise,” GRAMMY-nominated duo Florida Georgia Line have been making history since 2012. As the first Country act to achieve RIAA’s DIAMOND certification (10 million copies sold) and holding the longest reign on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart (50 straight weeks) with 8X PLATINUM, #1 “Meant to Be” with Bebe Rexha, the global superstars have tallied 9.3+ billion streams, exceeded 33.6 million track downloads, sold more than 4.6 million albums worldwide, and scored 16 #1 singles.

However, FGL announced back in 2021 that the group was going to put things on hold for awhile while the guys pursued various solo projects. Is the group breaking up? Well, it seems like it-- but FGL says it's more accurate to say they're 'taking a break,' as this CountryNow story noted.

FGL did play 12 tour dates in 2022, one of which was in our neck of the woods, back at Country Fest in Cadott, WI, in June of last year. But when FGL took the grandstand at the Great Minnesota Get-Together on Wednesday, August 31st 2022, it was apparently their last show... ever. Well, at least for right now, anyway.

While the group doesn't have any other tour dates planned right now, both Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelly have released solo projects. And Tyler Hubbard has been on tour several times in Minnesota since FGL's last show. He opened for the final date of Keith Urban's 'Speed of Now' World Tour at the Xcel Energy Center last November (where he referenced how it was appropriate that Minnesota was the site of Keith's last tour date because it was also the location of FGL's last show ever.)

He also performed live at the Varsity Theatre in Minneapolis back in April and was recently a featured performer at Ashley For The Arts in Arcadia, WI. He even played a show at the Iowa State Fair earlier this month as well.

So if FLG has played their last show ever, is it really OVER for the group? Both Tyler and Brian explained more about their decision in the video they posted to their social pages back in early 2021.

So, for now, it looks like it IS, indeed, the end for FGL. However, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of the guys getting back together sometime in the future for a reunion-type tour. For right now, though, Minnesota IS the last place FGL ever performed a live show!
