If you regularly use Ragu pasta sauce, you might want to check your label. According to CBS News, the company says that Ragu sauce produced between June 4th and June 8th may contain pieces of plastic. No reports about injuries have been made, but they want to take precautions before it becomes an issue. The FDA press release says that five different types of sauce have been recalled.

1. Ragu Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion 45oz with the code JUN0620YU2
2. Ragu Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion, 66oz with the code JUN0520YU2
3. Ragu Chunky Tomato Garlic & Onion 66oz with the code JUN0620YU2
4. Ragu Old World Style Traditional 66oz with code JUN0420YU2
5. Ragu Old World Style Meat, 66oz with the code JUN0520YU2

CBS News says that Walmart was on the list of stores that sold those five different types of pasta sauces. There are many Walmarts in Minnesota that may have had some of those containers onhand. Other retailers might have had a few jars, but Walmart had the majority of them according to CBS News. They are taking action as we speak.

Now if you do have a Ragu jar that has been recalled, there are a few steps you should take. First off, you should call the hotline (800-328-7248). They are open weekdays from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm CST.  Once you have placed the call, the company is asking that you get ride of the sauce. The release says that the company will send you a coupon to replace your jar as soon as you make the call.  For more information, check out the FDA recall.
