Rochester, MN (Rochester, MN ) - A request that is connected to a proposed affordable housing project in Rochester’s Country Club Manor neighborhood is on the agenda of the Wednesday meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Titan Development has submitted a request for a land-use plan amendment and a zoning change for the proposed project. The site is located on the north side of Country Club Road and the west side of 36th Avenue, next to People of Hope Church.

Titan has not submitted plans for the project but is expected to propose a three-story 72 unit building. Community Development is recommending the commission approve the two requests.

A memo to the commission says

“The developer states that the units will be income restricted and rent-restricted. Eight units will receive rental assistance through Housing Support subsidy. A formal application to the Minnesota Housing Finance Agency for the award of tax credits to help fund the project has been submitted, and the application has been reviewed and received positive scoring. As part of the MDFA tax credit award process, Rochester’s Mayor, Kim Norton provided a letter of support for this project."
