Rochester Honkers’ Season Postponed Indefinitely
Bases Loaded Entertainment, LLC took over Rochester Honkers prior to last season with a focus on improving the fan experience. The group has had great success with their two other teams, the La Crosse Loggers and the Mankato MoonDogs, and were hoping for another fun summer. The games, the in-game entertainment and activities, and the post game fireworks are on hold now because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Opening day at Rochester's Mayo Field was originally scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th but has been postponed indefinitely. The Northwoods League posted the update today on their website: "The May 26th opening date for Northwoods League teams has been postponed indefinitely league-wide. The League will continue to monitor the specific situation in each of the communities where it operates to see where play might safely commence, consider the league-wide impacts of each location’s status, and will adjust various contingency plans accordingly. Following this process, the League will continue to make frequent assessments, taking into consideration any local and state-wide updates, and will immediately communicate any further changes to the status of the League schedule."
