Rochester Kids Can Get a Free Book for Reading This Summer!
Summer break will be here before we know it. Here's a fun way to keep your child's mind working, AND get something free in the end...
According to Oxford Learning, "studies show that reading four to five books over the summer has a positive impact comparable to summer school enrollment. Plus, it gives your child a chance to choose books that he or she is interested in, keeping the activity fun and interesting too!"
Did you know that Barnes and Noble has a fun summer reading program?
How it works:
- You print off a reading journal here.
- Your kid reads any 8 books throughout the summer.
- Return the signed and completed reading journal at Barnes and Noble between May 16th and September 5th.
- Pick a free book from this list
Kids in 1st grade through 6th grade are eligible for the reading program. Limit one book per child.
