Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester man used a $100 bill to pay for a small food order early Tuesday and was soon being interviewed by police.

The employee he handed the bill to determined it was counterfeit and called 911.

The incident happened at the McDonald’s restaurant near St. Marys Hospital around 2:00 AM.

The 30-year-old man was still there when an officer arrived. The man gave different stories about where the bogus bill came from. He also raised the officer’s suspicions because he had several $20 bills in his wallet.

The man could be facing a gross misdemeanor charge.
