Rochester, MN Hockey Team Ties Blankets When It’s Below Freezing
@JMGirlsHockey
You may have missed this story during the Polar Vortex. Some hockey players did something good. Put it on Twitter. And kept on moving. It is an important good thing they did. Not just the good thing itself, but the idea behind the good thing, the doing of the good thing, and the way the good thing will actually comfort kids.
The Tweet said simply,
"No game today so the Rockets are making blankets for the Hugs from Hunter Foundation!"
It caught my eye and here we are. I say kudos! Any act of service to another is a priceless gift. And by doing it for Hugs from Hunter Foundation, their day of service will send ripples of kindness to kids and their families for so many days to come.
What is Hugs from Hunter? "Hugs From Hunter Foundation provides comfort to hospitalized children and their siblings." The story of the foundation begins with a great 12-year-old named Hunter and a tragedy that fell upon the boy and his family. That tragedy ended up giving birth to the foundation when family and friends saw a need and filled it with energy and hope in Hunter's name. Read the whole story here.
