Rochester’s Summer Dance Party, Zumba On The Plaza, is Cancelled for 2020

Every Monday night during the summer in downtown Rochester, a fun group of people got together to dance in the Peace Plaza.  Unfortunately, Zumba on the Plaza won't be happening this summer.

The sad news showed up on the Zumba on the Plaza Facebook page:

Hello Zumba fans! I hope this message finds you all well!

I'm afraid I have some sad news to share. After 7 seasons of Zumba on the Plaza, I regret to inform you that the event will be cancelled this summer, due to the construction on the Peace Plaza. It's so sad, I know!

The good news? There may be a chance that we can hold a single event at some point. The far west end will still be accessible. Stay tuned for more information! - Zumba on the Plaza Facebook Page

I went to Zumba on the Plaza quite a few times and just loved it.  I am not a dancer but honestly, it didn't matter if you knew how to dance or knew the moves.  The goal with Zumba is to move and have fun, and all of the instructors did a great job helping everyone feel welcome.  I know many of us will miss this fun, free activity this summer.
