Those sub-zero temperatures we dealt with earlier this week are set to return to Minnesota again this weekend, with temperatures not expected to even rise above zero on Sunday. The cold did, though, create a unique scene Tuesday morning in Duluth.

Check out the incredible picture (by Silverness Photography) in this tweet from KSTP's Bill Lunn, which describes the scene over the Duluth harbor earlier this week. I'd never heard of 'sea smoke' before, but I guess when you live near a huge body of water, like Lake Superior, you might be already familiar with this phenomenon. It's too cool-- literally. And, I'll bet Duluth residents could be treated to a similar view again this weekend, when temperatures once again plunge below zero.

(Btw, wouldn't this be cool to see on our own Silver Lake in northeast Rochester? Unfortunately, I don't think Silver Lake-- which was created by RPU for use as a cooling reservoir for the Silver Lake Power Plant-- is a big enough body of water to cause a similar reaction, though.)
