Shania Twain Officially Releases ‘Life’s About to Get Good’ [LISTEN]
It's finally, officially here: Shania Twain has released her brand-new single, "Life's About to Get Good." The song will be going for adds at country radio beginning on Monday (June 19).
Written by Twain, alone, and produced by Matthew Koma and Ron Aniello, "Life's About to Get Good" draws inspiration from Twain's messy divorce from her former husband and producer, Robert John “Mutt” Lange. Its first verse goes, "I wasn’t just broken, I was shattered / I trusted you so much, you’re all that mattered / You no longer loved me, and I sang like a sad bird / I couldn’t move on and I think you were flattered."
“I was at home, looking out at the ocean, and I said to myself, ‘Here I am stuck in this past of negativity, but it’s so beautiful out. I’m not in the mood to write a feeling-sorry-for-myself song,’” Twain recalls of the inspiration for “Life’s About to Get Good.” “You can’t have the good without the bad. And that’s what the song ended up being about.”
How Well Do You REALLY Know Shania Twain?
"Oh, life’s about joy, life’s about pain / It’s all about forgiving and the will to walk away," Twain sings in the chorus of "Life's About to Get Good." "I’m ready to be loved and love the way I should / Life’s about, life’s about to get good ..."
“Life’s About to Get Good” is the lead single from Twain’s first new album in 15 years, Now. She debuted the song during her headlining set at the 2017 Stagecoach Country Music Festival; it's also being used in NBC's ads for their 2018 Winter Olympics coverage.
