We all have that fast-food restaurant that we frequent because it's convenient. Mine happens to be Chick-Fil-A hands down! The other night, Minneapolis City Council voted to ban drive-thrus in the city limits according to WCCO. This has been a topic of discussion for a while.

According to the article, the ordinance passed on Thursday (August 8th). The reasoning, it will help reduce emissions in the town. It'll also make the sidewalks safer for pedestrians.

This brings up a lot of questions, like are existing restaurants allowed to keep their drive-thrus? According to KARE 11, this ordinance will only impact new businesses. The next question, will it really have the impact that officials think it will? Only time will tell on this one. The same KARE 11 story says that this proposed change came from the city planning council in May.

So how do you feel about this? Should Rochester adopt this ordinance? Life wouldn't be the same without my drive-thru Chick-Fil-A and coffee.
