While he's played in our state twice in the last couple of years, it looked like Paul McCartney was once again headed back to Minnesota this year. Or is he?

If you were following Sir Paul's tour announcement earlier this week, perhaps you noticed that he was set to play in 'Duluth' on July 13th. Which, as this GO-MN story pointed out, would seem logical, given that he's in Illinois around that same time.

Several outlets, including Billboard magazine, the story noted, even listed 'Duluth, Minnesota' as the tour stop for that date.

But if you look closer, you see that the venue listed for the July 13th show is the Infinite Energy Arena. Which is in Duluth, alright-- but it's Duluth... Georgia. (He'd have to play the Amsoil Arena if he was going to be in Duluth, Minnesota.)

So, yeah, sorry about that, Duluth. Sir Paul won't be coming to the North Shore or anywhere in Land of 10,000 Lakes this year. In fact, the closest he'll be is down in Des Moines, Iowa on July 21st.

My wife and I did go see Sir Paul's show a couple of years ago at Target Field, and thought it was pretty good. (Well, from what I remember, that is-- we stayed in Minneapolis that night and I believe I enjoyed more than my share of adult beverages that night...,)
