The lanes on southbound Highway 52 will have lane closures as crews wrap up the tasks related to opening the road, according to a MnDOT news release. The 6.5 stretch of highway was closed for most of the year for a reconstruction project.

The lanes reopening also triggered the full opening of the newly-constructed Hwy. 57/Hwy. 52 interchange in Hader. The northbound entrance and exit ramps opened November 4, while the southbound ramps had to await the completion of the southbound lanes reconstruction.

The reopening of the Hwy. 52 southbound lanes marks the end of the second year of the three-year construction project. Work for the third and final year of the project is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2023.
