Well, it was good while it lasted, anyway. My dog, Chance, and his string of three correct predictions on how the Vikings will do each week came to an abrupt halt Sunday with that last-second loss to the Bills.

It sure was close, though. Those last-second games are almost tougher to take than games when your team is getting completely lambasted. At least when your team is being blownout, you KNOW there's no chance of a victory. Sunday, though, it seemed as though the Vikes were actually going to pull off a victory-- just as Chance called it Thursday morning. Except that Kyle Orton and the Bills offense apparently didn't get the memo.

He'll be back later this week, though, with his pick for on how the Vikings will fare this Sunday down in Tampa against the Buccaneers.  For now, though, he's taking the loss kind of tough-- all he wants to do is take a nap on his bed.  Wait, that's what he does EVERYDAY.

In the meantime, though, even though Sunday's game wasn't a big game, in the sense that were wasn't a conference championship or trip to the Super Bowl was riding on the outcome, it still did give Chance his first loss in predicting how the Vikings are going to do each week. And, sometimes that first loss can hit you right in the gut. Which, apparently is why Chance reminded me that when he finally heads to that big doggie bed in the sky, he'd like a couple of Vikings to be pallbearers-- so they can let him down one last time! :)
