Cold weather

It's been pretty warm lately, but the Cold Weather Rule still went into effect as scheduled Friday morning here in Minnesota.

Sure it's July. And sure, we often get some really hot, humid weather. But Minnesota just recorded the coldest temperature in the country Thursday!

While we just slogged through our first day of this winter where the temperature didn't get above zero, we've been through stretches when it's been way colder here in Minnesota.

We may not have snow on the ground, but we WILL start having brighter evenings here in southeast Minnesota starting this week.

October has been a chilly month for us here in Minnesota and come the first week of November, warmer weather is on the horizon.

First, it was record-setting snow and now Rochester has a chance to set another weather record, this time dealing with our temperatures Tuesday morning.

Not often do we hear the word 'Thunder Sleet' being used in a forecast but thats exactly what we are experiencing today.

If you thought it was a little nippy in southeast Minnesota Tuesday, you're right-- in fact, record-setting cold enveloped Rochester.

Sure, we're facing the prospect of spending a couple of days in the sub-zero deep freeze, but there are some good things about it being this cold in Minnesota.
