The deadly incident might have been related to the severe weather that hit the region early Wednesday.

The State Patrol responded to the crash shortly after 3:30 Thursday morning. The driver was the only person involved.

A news release issued by the governor’s office says Fillmore, Houston, Mower, and Winona Counties will receive the emergency assistance.

Deputies responded to the ATV crash around 2:15 Saturday afternoon. It happened on a private property east of Fountain.

The crash involved two southbound cars and a northbound pickup truck.

The cleanup is still happening out there in southeast Minnesota, and the picture is a little different depending on which trail or park you're headed to.

New 48-hour rain totals posted Friday morning by the National Weather Service indicate communities in Fillmore County received more than 3.5 to less than 8.5 inches of rain.

Authorities are warning people to stay away from the floodwaters as additional heavy rains are forecast for the region.

The woman was driving a sedan. Both drivers were the only people involved in the crash.
