A Kasson man is searching for answers after his dog was shot three times while in his own fenced-in backyard.

The State Patrol responded to the scene shortly before 7:00 Saturday evening. Two people riding in the same vehicle were involved.

The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle.

He entered a Norgaard plea, which means he admits guilt but does not remember his actions due to intoxication.

The court document indicates a family of five was in the van when the shooting occurred, including a pregnant woman and three young children.

The incident occurred outside a home about two thirds of a mile from the school.

The first occurred in Rochester in late April 2024 and the second happened southeast of Rochester in September of that year.
