Minneapolis has recorded its first homicide in more than two months following a deadly shooting in North Minneapolis Saturday night.

The judge in the case ruled some of the search warrants did not meet constitutional requirements.

Both of the "cold case" homicides occurred in April, one in 2007 and the other in 2020.

The case was scheduled to go to trial next week.

Court documents say he was the getaway driver in a gang related fatal shooting in Rochester more than 20 years ago.

If convicted, he faces a possible death sentence.

The body of the young woman was discovered in western Wisconsin more than 50 years ago.

The charges say she intentionally struck the victim and then sped away from the scene.

He was convicted of murder and other charges.

The charges say he told Mankato police investigators that he was hearing voices.
