Rochester Police responded to the report of an active shooting in the 800 block of 16th Ave. Southeast on the evening of Sept. 10.

A car and SUV were involved in the crash.

The sting started September 3, when an undercover law enforcement officer set up a social media profile that featured two images of a young female.

Officers were dispatched to the reports of gunfire in the 800 block of 16th Ave. Southeast around 6:20 Tuesday night.

One apartment building and one vehicle were struck by the gunfire.

The machine gun-related conviction stemmed from a traffic stop that led to a crash in Rochester last December.

His family says he suffered a medical issue that caused the collision.
