Take an Incredible Hot Air Balloon Ride Right Here in Rochester
If you've always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon, did you know there's an option to do that right here in Rochester, Minnesota? It's with a company called Lesmeister Balloon Company.
I have never been in a hot air balloon and I can't recall ever seeing one in the sky in person. I've seen plenty of videos and pictures but I don't think I've ever seen one in real life in the sky. I think it would be a really cool experience though!
If you've also never been in a hot air balloon but you've always wanted to, you don't have to go very far to try it out. On Visit Pepin's website where they have more info about Lesmeister, they say that the company comes to Rochester to do rides. From what I've gathered it looks like you contact them and set up where you want to do the ride. They do rides in Pepin, WI, Rochester, and other parts of southeast Minnesota.
The owner of and pilot at Lesmeister Balloon Company is Mike Lesmeister, aka Flitemeister. Visit Pepin says the company started in 1997 in Rochester. They also say that they're working to get property in Pepin, WI. The hope is to eventually open up a balloon museum "and possibly a balloon festival or rally".
