Teen Shot in Southeast Rochester Overnight
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A 16-year-old boy was shot in southeast Rochester early Thursday morning.
Officers responded to the reported shooting in the 1500 block of 10th St. southeast around 1:30 a.m. The teen was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with what was described as a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
Police Captain Casey Moilanen said investigators believe the shooting occurred outside of an apartment complex in the area. Officers did recover one shell casing from the scene. Officers are working to learn what led to the shooting.
Moilanen said officers were able to talk with the victim at the scene of the shooting but were unable to get an in-depth interview with the teen. Moilanen said officers are looking for the shooter or anyone who may have been with the shooter. He said police also want to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting.
