There’s A Cat Yoga Class Here In Minnesota?
If one of your goals for the new year was to get in better shape, here's a class that might be able to help you-- and your cat.
Yes, it's a new yoga class for cats. Well, it's a yoga class you do WITH cats-- cats that are looking for their forever home, that is. It's all part of a fundraiser Animal Ark is putting on this Sunday.
Animal Ark is Minnesota's largest no-kill animal shelter, and according to this Go-MN story, their first Cat Yoga class is coming up this weekend. And, there's already a waiting list to get in!
So just what does one do at a Cat Yoga class? Well, pretty much what you'd do at a regular yoga class-- except there are some furry felines on the mat next to you. And, you can take them home when the class is done.
That's right, while the class is a legitimate yoga class, it's also a fundraiser for the shelter-- and a way to help some of their cats get adopted. And it's a trend that is catching on not just here in Minnesota, but across the country.
For a $10 donation, you can join the class (though Sunday's event is already sold-out) and check out the various cats on hand. Luckily, there's another cat yoga class scheduled for March.
Even though I've never done yoga, it sounds like a fun idea-- as long as you don't have to try to get the cats to do it, too. (Anyone who has cats-- and we have four-- knows how impossible that would be...)
