This Rochester Native’s Show is Back On TV This Month
It's one of my favorite shows. It's set to kick-off its fourth season later next week. And one of the main characters is from right here in Rochester!
Which show is it? It's 'Life In Pieces,' and it's a really funny comedy that airs on CBS on Thursdays. And one of its stars, Dan Bakkedahl, was born here in the Med City!
The show centers on the Short family, their three grown children (and their children) and how they all get along-- or don't. According to the CBS website, "'Life In Pieces' is a comedy about one big happy family and their sometimes awkward, often hilarious and ultimately beautiful milestone moments as told by its various members."
Bakkedahl plays a dentist who's married to the Short's only daughter. And, yes, he was born right here in Rochester. According to his cast bio, though, while he was born here, he actually grew up in Florida. He went to St. Cloud State here in Minnesota, but "completed his studies at Florida State."
You might also know him from “Veep” on HBO. And, he's also appeared in a ton of other shows, too, like “Legit,” “The Goldbergs,” “Gotham,” “30 Rock,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “The Mindy Project,” “The United States of Tara” and “Community.”
My wife and have been viewers since it debuted a couple of seasons ago and really liked it-- which, we were sure, meant that it'd most likely be canceled. But it was renewed for a fourth season last year, and is set to premiere April 18th at 7:30 p.m.
