Thomas Rhett Won’t Sit on New Music for Long: ‘So Pumped to Share’
Thomas Rhett has been hard at work in the studio for the majority of the year, and he's been teasing fans along the way.
"Recorded song 15 today ... so pumped to share all this new music with you," Rhett writes with two recent photos that show him in the studio. In an interview via his label, Big Machine Label Group, the "Sixteen" singer says he hates to keep fans waiting on new music, so he won't.
"I remember on my second record, we didn't make a new record for like two years or something like that," he recalls, "But I just think it’s the way that a lot of fans are consuming music today. When my album came out that was the first time that we’d ever gone out on the road after an album and got to play album cuts that people knew all the words to."
Since releasing his third album, 2017's Life Changes, Rhett says he has been writing nonstop. His current single, "Sixteen," is the last song he will release off the project before he puts out new music from his forthcoming LP. It follows four consecutive No. 1 hits featured on Life Changes including "Craving You," "Unforgettable," "Marry Me" and the title track.
"I’ve been doing nothing but writing my face off since the last album came out. But it is my goal to just keep putting more music out there,” he adds.
Rhett will embark on his 2019 headlining tour in May. Fittingly titled, Very Hot Summer Tour, the trek will criss-cross the country for 40 dates throughout the summer with Rhett likely performing some of the new tracks off his forthcoming studio album.
