Three Injured, One To Hospital In Crash Near Spring Grove

Three people were injured and one was transported to the hospital after a crash at the intersection of Highway 44 and Houston County Road 33 near Spring Grove Tuesday.

The Minnesota State Patrol reports that 28-year-old Luke Deters was driving a Ford F-250 was traveling east on Highway 44 and stopped in the lane of traffic to take a left-hand turn on County Road 44. Once stopped, the F-250 was rear-ended by a Chevy Trailblazer that was also traveling east on Highway 44.

The Trailblazer was driven by 49-year-old Sonya Burnikel of Spring Grove. Burnikel was transported to Gunderson Hospital in La Crosse with non-life threatening injuries. Deters and the passenger in the F-250, 59-year-old John Deters were injured but were not transported to any health care facility.

Houston County Sheriff's Department, Spring Grove Police and Spring Grove Fire and Ambulance assisted at the scene.
