Minneapolis, MN (KROC-AM News) - A federal grand jury has indicted three Twin Cities men on charges stemming from a riot in downtown Minneapolis in August that followed false rumors about a police shooting.

Federal prosecutors say 24-year-old Shador Jackson of Richfield, 31-year-old Victor Edwards of St. Paul, and 34-year-old Leroy Williams of Minneapolis each face a single count of conspiracy to commit arson. Officials note Edwards and Williams were previously charged with arson in the case.

It is alleged Jackson used a construction sign to smash through a glass door at the Target Corporation building and then set a fire on the counter inside the mailroom. Edwards is accused of adding a liquid accelerant to that fire, while Jackson allegedly started a second fire in some cardboard boxes in the mailroom. Williams is accused of attempting to light a fire inside the building's entrance.

The damage occurred after a large group of people gathered in downtown Minneapolis in response to false social media reports that a man had been fatally shot by police officers. Minneapolis police later released security camera video clearly showing the individual had killed himself.
