Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Mother Nature spoiled the plans for a community engagement initiative put together by the Rochester Police Department.

The first of 6 Safe City Nights events was scheduled to take place Tuesday evening at East Silver Lake Park but was called off due to the earlier than expected arrival of strong thunderstorms. The City of Rochester has sent out a notice this evening that it has been rescheduled for Wednesday evening at the same location.

The Safe City Nights initiative was put together to give community members an opportunity to get together with neighbors and interact with the law enforcement officers who patrol their neighborhoods.
