Trap Shooters are on Target this Fall in Minnesota
Owatonna High School has sponsored a clay target team for a few years and has enjoyed great success and popularity. The team qualified for the Minnesota State High School League state tournament in the spring of 2018. They were going to have a squad of 100-plus this past spring before the pandemic cost them their season.
However, clay target also offers a more informal fall season. The Huskies participated and finished second in their conference. There is no state tournament for the fall season, which has nothing to do with the coronavirus.
The Owatonna Clay Target Team Facebook page reports a second place finish in their conference for the Huskies "behind a very good Stewartville team!" Conference are arranged based on the number of shooters on each team.
Owatonna boasted the top individual shooter for the boys and girls standings in their conference with Taylor Busho leading the girls and Joe Earl tops among boys. "Overall we had seven boys and five girls finish the season in Conference Top 25," a Facebook post indicates.
