Oscar Wilde said it best “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.” Well the Chicago White Sox, are mediocre at best, tried to cash in on the Twins 'Bomba Squirrel' during last nights game. It appears those in the stands didn't understand what was going on judging by the lack of reaction.

Last week while the Twins were playing the White Sox at home, a squirrel showed up on the field of play during multiple games. The normally tree-dwelling creature then ventured into both dugouts on two consecutive days, with the team whose dugout was infiltrated by the squirrel losing that game. On Sunday the
squirrel survived a tumble while walking along a ledge in the downtown ballpark, and the dramatic event seemed to be enough to galvanize the team to rally and win. The squirrel has been embraced by the team or at least outfielder Jake Cave, as seen in this MLB Network Tweet.

Without the need for an appearance by the 'Bomba Squirrel', the Twins went on to win the game 3-1, in the process hitting two more dingers to sit at 255 home runs on the season, just 12 back from the MLB season record for a team.

The Minnesota Twins are on the road for the next few games before returning home to the squirrel-friendly confines of Target Field.
