Two of Minnesota’s Coziest Towns are in Southeast Minnesota
Wintertime is a time that we all want to feel cozy in Minnesota. There are all sorts of ways to stay warm and cozy but there are whole towns around Minnesota, including in southeast Minnesota, that are considered to be the coziest in the state. There are two on this list of nine, made by Only in Your State, that are right here in southeast Minnesota. There are also two that are close to southeast Minnesota that are in the top nine.
1. Stillwater
We'll start with the towns that are close to southeast Minnesota. Stillwater was ranked as the number one most cozy town in Minnesota. Only in Your State says that Stillwater takes the holidays very seriously and is especially cozy during the holiday season. I was in Stillwater a few weeks ago and I can confirm it had a cozy vibe.
2. Mankato
Second on the list is Mankato. Mankato is of course home to the longest drive-thru light display in Minnesota, so no wonder they were named one of the coziest!
3. Winona
Next on the list and the first one in southeast Minnesota is Winona. Of course, with Winona being on the Mississippi River it's hard for it to not be a cozy town. Only in Your State also says many businesses and homes decorate beautifully for the holidays.
5. Lanesboro
The final southeast Minnesota town on the list is Lanesboro. Lanesboro always makes it onto lists like these, so it's no surprise that they were also named one of the coziest towns in the state. Only in Your State writes, "Its little downtown area is full of shops, and a lovely dam adds even more scenic beauty to this Bluff Country town."
