Minnesota's own Valleyfair is getting ready to kick off its 2025 season in just days. Here's everything you need to know to get you ready to ride those rollercoasters!

Valleyfair has been Minnesota's lone amusement park for nearly 50 years now, standing tall along Highway 169 in Shakopee since it first opened back in 1976. The park features more than 75 rides, including eight roller coasters, Planet Snoopy featuring 15 children’s rides, and is home to Soak City, a seven-acre water park filled with slides, a wave pool, lazy river, and children’s water features.

Last summer, Valleyfair announced that it had new owners, as a merger deal between Cedar Fair and Six Flags officially closed, which means Valleyfair has been a part of the Six Flags Entertainment Corporation for nearly a year.  And they just announced plans for their 2025 opening day.

From fan-favorites like ValleyScare in the fall to the inaugural Juicy Lucy Festival, ValleyFair notes that there is 'something to keep guests coming back to the park all season long,' this year.

Throughout the 2025 season, Vallefair also noted that there will be several other new attractions as well:

  • The new SoundCycle, a pedal-powered musical experience
  • Hoops 101, a new interactive hula hoop show
  • Happiness is…, a show celebrating The Peanuts ™ 75th anniversary
  • Summer Smash-Up, a high-energy music and dance show,
  • The Drifters, an acoustic beachy-vibe music act,
  • Music Goes ‘Round and Around, a Peanuts musical show that takes you on a journey through the decades

If you recall, the 2024 season at Vallefair got off to a bit of a wet start-- and not just on the park's Soak City water rides, either. In fact, severe weather and heavy rains hit that area of Minnesota early last summer, which in turn affected Valleyfair.

The Valleyfair campus in Shakopee was inundated by rising flood waters from the Minnesota River in June 2024 and was forced to close several rides, as well as part of their parking area. It was also forced to reschedule its popular Fourth of July fireworks display. Check out what things looked like in late June 2024.
