The holiday season is barreling towards us and many of us have already started our shopping -- including buying a few gift cards. But just how well do Minnesotans like getting gift cards?

I read THIS article, which said that just over half of us will no doubt give someone on our list a gift card this holiday season. But the article also said that only 27 percent of us say we LIKE getting gift cards.

Yikes. 50 percent give them but only 27 percent like getting them? That's a pretty big discrepancy.

The article went on to say that if you're buying for someone younger -- like a Millennial, for instance, they're more likely to favor a tangible gift. (At least that's what 57 percent said.)

Now the older folks on your list -- Baby Boomers, say -- also appeared to like a tangible gift better -- but only 44 percent said that. So, maybe a gift card works better for them.

I don't know about you, but I don't mind getting a gift card, in fact, I kind of like it-- then I can get exactly what I want. (And there's no pressure of having to act like you like a gift when you open it when you secretly
