The sherrif's department made it clear that this is definitely a scam that you should be watching out for. They explained, "Minnesota Department of Health and health care providers will never contact you and ask for personal information or credit card information in order to get the COVID-19 vaccine. The COVID-19 vaccine will be free." Read their full statement below.

This statement was posted to the Wabasha County Sheriff's Facebook page: "SCAM ALERT: Wabasha County has been made aware that someone is calling households in our county offering vaccine to people in the household. This is a scam. MDH and health care providers will never contact you and ask for personal information or credit card information in order to get the COVID-19 vaccine. COVID-19 vaccine will be free. There is no statewide list that you can sign-up with before getting a COVID-19 vaccine. Public Health will provide information once we have it on future priority groups and how they will be notified when they can receive vaccine."
