1 Killed and 3 Severely Hurt in Motorcycle Crashes 5 Miles Apart
Hinckley MN, (KROC-AM News) - One motorcyclist was killed and two others suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash involving a car and three motorcycles in east-central Minnesota on Saturday.
The State Patrol says the deadly crash occurred just before 8:30 AM when the driver of the car pulled away from a stop sign and into the path of the motorcycles at a rural intersection in Kanabec County about 10 miles southwest of Hinckley. The car collided with two of the motorcycles and forced another one off the highway.
The driver of one of the motorcycles hit by the cars was killed. He has been identified as 42-year-old Jerrad Quenomoen of Java, South Dakota. His passenger, 40-year-old Charisse Janke of Java, was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center with severe injuries. The State Patrol says a passenger on the other motorcycle hit by the car, 46-year-old Tina Marie Johnson of Braham, was also severely injured and was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in the Twin Cities. The driver of that motorcycle and the motorcycle that was forced off the road were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The 30-year-old St. Paul man driving the car and his four passengers were not hurt.
The State Patrol responded to a second motorcycle crash about 5 miles to the west of the first crash site last Saturday night. The patrol says 35-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries when he was thrown off his motorcycle when he veered off the road and collided with a mailbox around 11 PM. The crash site was on Highway 23 between Milaca and Ogilvie.
