Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Arson is being listed as the suspected cause of a recent fire that wiped out a mobile home in Rochester.

A statement issued this morning by the Rochester Fire Department says that is the determination made by investigators from the fire department’s Fire Marshal Office and the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Department following the blaze early Wednesday morning at the Zumbro Ridge Estates mobile home park along 55th Street Northeast.

The fire was reported around 3 AM, and by the time Rochester firefighters arrived at the scene, the residence was fully engulfed in flames. It appears the fire started in the living room of the mobile home, which had been vacant for some time. The estimate of the total loss from the fire has been revised to around $10,000. No injuries were reported.

The Fire Department is requesting the public’s assistance in the case. A reward of up to $5000 is being offered for information leading to the identification of the arsonist or arsonists. Anyone with information concerning the fire is asked to call the ARSON Hotline at 1-800-723-2020.
