Rochester, MN KROC-AM News) - A thief was caught on surveillance video stealing a bike from a Rochester home - and was later confronted by the owner near the Peace Plaza.

The bicycle was stolen July 21st from the enclosed porch of a residence in the 200 block of 8th St NW. The owner said the bike was worth $500.

The owner and his wife were downtown Wednesday afternoon when they saw the suspected thief with the bike. While waiting for police, the wife confronted the man while the husband recorded the incident. The wife tried to take the bike away from the man but he hung on and rode off.

Both videos have been turned over to police and investigators are trying to identify the thief.
