Brett Eldredge is country music's Buddy the Elf in terms of Christmas spirit. Yes, he likes to sing holiday classics, but he's at his jolliest when he's having fun in the sleigh, dressed as Santa Claus.

In a hilarious video posted to Instagram, a very joyful Eldredge in a sequined red jacket and '70s sunglasses sits down at the wheel of a makeshift sleigh, guided by his dog, Edgar.

"Rudolf, Edgar the red nosed reindeer," the singer belts out, reinterpreting a holiday staple as Edgar brings him around the kitchen at a fast pace. But the dog-deer crashes into a Santa impostor in the kitchen before trying to change his route, causing some mayhem in Eldredge's home.

"@edgarboogie the red nosed reindeer and I are flying to your house ... please leave cookies ...," Eldredge captions the clip. Watch it all unfold above.

Just because it's the holidays doesn't mean Eldredge is getting time off. It's Christmas tradition for him to sing "O Holy Night" each year at church, so when he tried to take a year off to enjoy his family and a restful holiday, they wouldn't let him.

"They got so mad at me," Eldredge says, recalling a conversation he tried to have about breaking a yearly tradition. Everyone would crowd into his family church and at some point, the singer would sneak into the choir loft to sing "O Holy Night." It's something he'd been doing since he was a child, and something he'll have to continue doing.

"I would look down from the choir loft and see my whole family and they're all looking up there, smiling and crying and just loving that moment every year."
