It’s the kind of Facebook post that stops you mid-scroll and not in a good way.

After much consideration, deliberation, discussion, and many difficult heartfelt conversations, we have come to the incredibly heart-wrenching conclusion that we unfortunately cannot continue operations.

Cue the sinking feeling in your stomach. Especially when that post is from one of your favorite local spots. And not just any brewery, but from the only brewery of its kind in the entire state!

Finding a great place to eat and drink can already feel like an impossible scavenger hunt when you’re gluten-free. A place that not only understands your needs but also brews beer in a 100% gluten-free facility? That’s a rare gem. And now, it’s about to get even harder to find.

Burning Brothers Brewing, a beloved gem for the gluten-free community has just shared the heartbreaking news that they are closing up shop. And doing so very soon.

Sadly, their announcement continued:

The factors affecting this decision are numerous, complex, and varied, and we have fought hard to avoid reaching this point, but alas, the day we had hoped to avoid has arrived."

Burning Brothers wasn’t just filling a niche - they were setting the standard as the ONLY dedicated gluten-free brewery in Minnesota.

After 11 years of filling pints, their final day in business will be Saturday, May 10th, according to their Facebook page. They said they'll continue normal operations up until then. If you haven't been, make the trip up to St. Paul ASAP.

25 Highest-Rated Breweries in Minnesota

To help you discover some of the best local brews, Stacker put together a list of Minnesota's top-rated breweries based on Tripadvisor data. Tripadvisor's rankings are a mix of several factors, including overall rating, user reviews, and page traffic. This means that even a brewery with a perfect 5 out of 5 rating might be outranked by one with a 4 out of 5 if it has more reviews or higher visibility.
