Watch Carrie Underwood Sing Along to Predators Organist’s ‘The Fighter’ Cover
While cheering on the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night (May 16), Carrie Underwood found herself hearing a very familiar song over the Bridgestone Arena speakers. When the team's organ player broke into Underwood and Keith Urban's single "The Fighter," the country superstar couldn't help but sing along.
While at the Predators Stanley Cup Playoffs Western Conference Final game vs. the Anaheim Ducks, Underwood shared an Instagram video of herself (in a Predators jersey, of course) jamming out to her and Urban's hit duet. She captioned the clip, "You know you've made it when!"
Underwood has been a fixture during the Nashville Predators playoff run, rooting for her husband (and Preds captain) Mike Fisher. Back in April, during Nashville's first home playoff game vs. the Chicago Blackhawks, Underwood sang the National Anthem before puck drop.
Underwood wasn’t the only famous country music face at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on Tuesday night: Urban himself was in the house to sing the National Anthem, calling the experience "one of the proudest moments, ever, in my life."
“I’ve lived in America 25 years, [but] I’ve never been asked to sing the National Anthem, so it was such an honor to do it here in Nashville for the Preds,” Urban said after his performance. “It’s a nerve-wracking experience, but, above all, it’s a huge honor.”
The Nashville Predators’ National Anthem singers during the 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs have, thus far, all been country stars: Underwood and Luke Bryan sang the Anthem during the Preds’ two home Round 1 playoff games, while Little Big Town, Vince Gill and his daughters Jenny and Corinna and Lady Antebellum sang during Round 2.
The Predators currently lead their Western Conference Final series vs. the Ducks two games to one. The teams will face off again on Thursday night (May 18) in Nashville.
